At Eagle Creek Explorers, we embrace an emergent curriculum that adapts to the children’s interests and discoveries. By documenting their learning journeys, we create a rich, child-led learning environment that fosters curiosity and growth. Our program is:
• Child-Led: We empower children to take charge of their own learning, allowing their interests to guide our activities.
• Play-Based: Play is at the heart of our approach, encouraging exploration and creativity.
• Nature-Based: Situated on almost 5 acres, our inviting nature playscape and diverse natural areas offer endless opportunities for outdoor adventures.
Our property features chickens that the children can help feed, a plethora of fruit trees a dedicated garden space where they can learn about sustainable practices like composting, recycling, repurposing and an indoor classroom space designed to spark curiosity and imaginative play. We also have two friendly dogs who live here, but they will be kept separate from the children during school hours. We are a screen-free school, believing that nature acts as the third teacher, offering invaluable lessons and experiences.
We provide two largely organic, balanced snacks each day to keep our explorers energized and healthy. While we strive to spend as much time as possible outdoors, we understand the need to occasionally retreat indoors for rest and to meet the children’s needs.
Our goal is to cater to the individual needs of each child, tailoring our program to their unique strengths and interests, ensuring every child thrives at Eagle Creek Explorers. We also aim to foster a sense of community, helping children build strong, supportive relationships with each other.
At Eagle Creek Explorers, our daily schedule provides structure while allowing flexibility to follow the children’s needs and curiosities. Our schedule is adaptable to ensure we can cater to the children’s interests and spontaneous discoveries throughout the day.
